Welcome to PalkarMatch, a matrimony platform operated by PalkarMatch ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users ("you", "your"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application.

By creating an account or using PalkarMatch, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information to provide our matrimony matchmaking services:

2.1 Account Information

• Full name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number
• Date of birth, age, gender
• Login credentials (managed securely via authentication provider)

2.2 Profile Information

• Height, weight, complexion, physical status
• Education, occupation, company name, work location
• Salary range and NRI status
• State, district, taluk, pincode, address
• About me and partner preference descriptions

2.3 Sensitive Personal Information

With your explicit consent, we collect certain sensitive information essential for matrimony matching within the Saurashtra community:

• Religious information: Gothuru (Gotra), Gherunav, Rasi, Nakshatram, Paatham
• Horoscope images
• Family details: father's and mother's names and occupations
• Marital status (including divorcee status)
• Disability status

2.4 Media

• Profile photographs uploaded by you
• Horoscope images uploaded by you

2.5 Payment Information

• Transaction IDs and payment screenshots for plan subscriptions

We do not store credit card or bank account details. Payments are processed externally.

2.6 Usage Data

• Profile views, shortlists, and search activity within the app
• Device information and app version

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your matrimony profile
• To display your profile to other registered users for matchmaking
• To enable search and filtering of profiles based on preferences
• To verify accounts and prevent fraudulent profiles
• To process subscription payments and activate plans
• To send important notifications about your account
• To respond to your support requests
• To improve our services and user experience
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored across the following secure cloud services:

4.1 Database and Authentication

Your profile data, account credentials, and app activity records are stored on secure cloud servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS).

4.2 Image Storage

All images you upload (profile photos, horoscope images, and payment screenshots) are stored on Cloudinary, a third-party cloud media management service. Images are stored in secure folders organized by type and user. When you update or delete an image, the previous image is permanently deleted from Cloudinary servers.

4.3 Local Device Storage

Minimal data such as search history and onboarding status is stored locally on your device using secure app storage. This data never leaves your device.

4.4 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications
• Secure authentication with token-based sessions
• Row-level security policies on database tables
• Signed API requests for image deletion to prevent unauthorized access
• Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only
• Automatic cleanup of old images when profiles are updated or deleted

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With other registered users: Your profile information (excluding contact details for non-premium users) is visible to other registered members for matchmaking purposes.
• With service providers: We use Supabase for data storage and authentication, and Cloudinary for secure image storage and delivery. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
• For legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.

We do not share your data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

• Supabase (Database & Auth): Stores your profile data, authentication credentials, and app activity. Hosted on AWS infrastructure.
• Cloudinary (Image Storage): Stores and delivers your uploaded images (profile photos, horoscope images, payment screenshots). Images are transmitted over encrypted connections.
• Expo (App Framework): Provides device permissions handling for photo library and storage access.

Each provider is contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes of providing their services to us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 3 business days, including:

• Profile information and preferences from our database
• All uploaded images permanently deleted from Cloudinary servers (profile photos, horoscope images, and payment screenshots)
• Shortlists, profile views, and contact view history
• Payment records and plan subscriptions
• Blocked profile relationships and notifications
• Authentication credentials permanently removed

When you update your profile photo or horoscope image, the previous image is automatically and permanently deleted from our cloud storage. Certain anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics and service improvement.

6.1 How to Delete Your Account

We’ve made account deletion simple, transparent, and fully self-serve from within the app. You do not need to email us or submit any external form — the complete flow is available inside the app:

Once deletion is completed, all your personal data — profile information, uploaded images (profile photos, horoscope images, payment screenshots), shortlists, contact view history, payment records, and authentication credentials — is permanently removed as detailed above. You will receive no further communication from us after your account is deleted.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: View all personal data we hold about you through your profile.
• Correction: Edit and update your profile information at any time.
• Deletion: Request complete account and data deletion through Settings.
• Withdraw Consent: Stop using the app at any time. Contact us to withdraw specific data processing consents.
• Data Portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting our support team.

8. Children's Privacy

PalkarMatch is intended for users aged 18 and above only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will promptly delete such information.

9. Permissions We Request

The app requests the following device permissions:

• Photo Library Access: To upload profile photos, horoscope images, and payment screenshots. Images are uploaded to Cloudinary over encrypted connections.
• Storage/Media Library Access: To save downloaded profile images and horoscope images to your device gallery in a dedicated "PalkarMatch" album.
• Internet Access: Required for all app functionality including data synchronization, image uploads, and real-time updates.

We only access these features when you explicitly initiate an action that requires them. We do not access your photo library, camera, or other device features in the background.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Your continued use of PalkarMatch after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
